San Diego Stealth Add Defensive Player of the Year Byron Edwards

SAN DIEGO — October 12, 2026

The San Diego Stealth announced the addition of Byron Edwards, the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year, to the team’s secondary for the upcoming season.

Edwards joins the Stealth following a standout season with the Washington Wolfpack, where he recorded nine interceptions, including four returned for touchdowns. His performance earned him Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-League honors.

A proven playmaker, Edwards brings professional experience, physicality and the ability to turn defensive stops into scoring opportunities. His addition strengthens the Stealth’s secondary as the organization continues building its roster under head coach Rakim Cox.

The San Diego Stealth welcome Edwards to San Diego as the team prepares for its upcoming season at Pechanga Arena.
